Pattaya Floating Market is a purpose-built market rather than one that grew out of canal-side life. It is divided into four zones for Thailand's four regions, each selling food and goods associated with that region.
What is there
- Vendors in paddle boats along the waterways
- Regional food, both on boats and in the timber houses along the water
- Crafts and souvenirs
On cost
Admission and boat rides are charged separately, and prices inside run above an ordinary local market, as at any built attraction. Ask before ordering or boarding.
Planning
Allow one to two hours. It is open-air and on the water, so morning and late afternoon are more comfortable than midday — and better for photographs.
