The viewpoint on Khao Sam Muk looks down the whole length of Bangsaen beach — a frame that takes in the sand, the shore road and the town behind it at once, with small coves visible directly below.
When to come
Late afternoon before sunset is the popular slot: the light comes in low across the water and the heat drops. Midday is fierce, with little shade, and the haze flattens the distance. Mornings work too, and are quieter.
The road
The approach is a steep, winding road around the hill. An ordinary car manages it in a low gear, but take care where vehicles pass coming down. Roadside parking is limited — do not leave a car blocking the lane.
It sits in the same area as Khao Sam Muk and its shrine, so the two combine into one stop. The same warning about the monkeys applies.
