Chong Khao Khat is a clifftop viewpoint on the western side of Ko Si Chang, looking out at open sea with no island in the way — the best place on the island for sunset.
Why the cliff looks like this
The rock here has been cut into channels by wave action, opening the cleft that reads so clearly from the viewpoint. The shape is the sea's work on stone over a long time, not landscaping.
Take care
- There are steps down to a lower viewpoint — and back up again
- Parts of the edge have no railing. Take particular care in strong wind
- It is fully exposed and very hot — bring a hat and water
- Busy in the late afternoon; allow time to park
