Tha Wang beach sits below Phra Chudathut Ratchathan on the eastern side of Ko Si Chang, so it is usually the stop people make straight after walking the palace grounds.
What the beach is like
The water is shallow and calm — this side faces the mainland rather than the open sea. It is a quiet place to sit, look at the water and wait for the next boat, rather than somewhere to swim properly.
Anyone set on swimming, and on a full stretch of sand, should head for Tham Phang beach on the western side instead.
Worth knowing
Facilities are limited: use the toilets in the palace grounds before coming down, and take your rubbish out or use the bins provided.
