Tien Talay is a beach in Sattahip that is markedly quieter than the main tourist stretches. The shore is rocky rather than a long sweep of sand, with tree cover along the back of it — better for sitting out than for a day of swimming.
You can stay the night
Unlike the other beaches in the area, this one has bungalows and a campground, and they must be booked in advance — you cannot simply turn up and ask. Numbers are limited and long weekends fill quickly.
There is food on site at modest prices, though with fewer choices than a beach lined with restaurants.
Worth knowing
- It sits within a naval area, with access rules that are worth checking first
- Facilities are limited — bring water and what you need
- The shore is rock; wear shoes you can walk on it in
- Take your rubbish out or use the bins provided
