The Buddha's Footprint pavilion stands at the highest point on Ko Si Chang — both a sacred site housing a replica footprint and the furthest-seeing viewpoint on the island.
The view
From the top you see sea on both sides of the island at once, and on a clear day as far as Sriracha on the mainland — a distance that finally makes the island's position legible.
The climb
It is a long flight of steps. Allow time and energy, and avoid the middle of the day: there is almost no shade on the way up. Morning or late afternoon is better.
Conduct
This is a sacred place. Dress modestly, remove your shoes where indicated, and keep quiet within the pavilion.
