Khao Phra Tamnak viewpoint sits on the hill between South Pattaya and Jomtien, looking down on the whole sweep of Pattaya bay — the beach, the seafront towers, and Ko Lan out beyond.
The PATTAYA CITY sign
The oversized letters at the viewpoint are the most photographed spot in Pattaya, which means a queue for pictures in the late afternoon. Come in the morning for a clear frame.
Timing
- Sunset draws the biggest crowd — worth it, but allow time to park
- Mornings are quiet, well lit and cooler
- There is a cafe at the viewpoint if you are waiting for the evening light
Getting there
The hill road takes cars, though parking is limited and fills early in the evening. The Big Buddha temple is in the same area and combines into one stop — it is a religious site, so dress modestly.
